James Mair collection

The Friends of Loudoun Kirk was established in 1994 and one of the instigators and founder members was James (Jim) Mair of Newmilns. Jim was a well-known and much respected figure who held the post of chairman of The Friends of Loudoun Kirk for some years before retiring. Sadly Jim died recently, however we are pleased to announce a launch of a new website which is dedicated to his very fine collection of local photographs of Newmilns and its people. This is a substantial collection of photographs and most have titles and notes but some portraits are of unknown people so if you have connections to Newmilns, you may just find photographs of people/places you recognise or if you can name any of the unknown faces, the website would be happy to hear from you.
You will find this collection at www.east-ayrshire.gov.uk/librarymair collection
